My name is IsaBelle, and I am so happy you are here!
I created TherapyBySourdough to share my sourdough journey, hoping to inspire others to discover the therapeutic benefits of baking sourdough bread. After dealing with mental health challenges and PTSD for a few years, my therapist suggested that I find something that brings me genuine happiness. I stumbled upon the sourdough community on TikTok and decided to give it a try. My grandma’s friend gifted me a starter, and I began baking that day. Despite feeling intimidated by the complexity of sourdough baking, I soon realized that it’s not as complicated as it seemed online. This realization led me to share my journey on TikTok.
I am passionate about mental health and am pursuing my master’s in counselling psychology. I love normalizing the human experience and encouraging others to find forms of self-care that bring them joy and soothe their nervous systems. TherapybySourdough combines my two passions, mental health and sourdough baking, into a platform that promotes self-care and well-being.
I aim to make sourdough baking straightforward and accessible so everyone can enjoy its therapeutic benefits regardless of their baking experience.
This website will offer easy-to-follow recipes, tips, and tricks to simplify the sourdough process. Alongside recipes and techniques, I’ll share insights on how baking can be a powerful tool for self-care, mindfulness, and emotional healing.
